Seven Surprising Things in first games of the NBA Playoffs

NBA Playoffs? The games are all exciting and of course the competitiveness is at the full gear. After the 16 teams have played, I noticed some of the unexpected and surprising occurrences.
1. Warriors defeat the Mavericks. Stunning! The three games that the Warriors won against the Mavericks in the regular season were not a fluke. They were for real. Don Nelson has an answer to his former team.
2. Denver upsets San Antonio. I’d written before about the Nuggets of winning games to be the sixth seed and would have to play the Spurs. Denver showed the poise with their two superstars Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson. The Nuggets are not afraid of the Spurs.
3. New Jersey beats Toronto. Vince Carter was the marked man but Richard Jefferson was the man. With Jason Kidd assisting and rebounding more than scoring, the Raptors are in trouble.
4. Raptors fans wearing shirts with the same color as the Nets? I don’t understand this gimmick by the Raptors. When fans are with the team, they should wear the same color.
5.Low scoring. Only the Detroit Pistons reached the century mark. This means defense is the emphasis.
6. Miami Heat lose to Chicago. I was expecting the Bulls to be disoriented because of not getting the second seed but I was wrong. They played well with determination. Shaquille O’Neal and Dwayne Wade were in foul trouble. There were fouls that wasn’t to be. Bad officiating affected the game especially with Miami’s superstars.
7. Lakers and Suns. ABC loves these teams. The rating is the highest of all the matchups.
Let’s watch all the games, I hope your team wins game one.
