Nets sustain lead to beat Raptors
Vince Carter was once beloved and admired but returning back to play against the Toronto Raptors with boos in his ears struggled in the game yet he wasn’t the the only man to defend.
Richard Jefferson scored 28 points, Jason Kidd had 15 assists and 10 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets sustained a late rally of the Raptors in the fourth quarter, 96-91 in game one of the best-of-seven series Saturday.
Vince Carter scored only 16 points, 5-of-19 on the field, but converted most of the points in the fourth quarter importantly in the last two minutes.
With early two fouls in the first quarter, Chris Bosh couldn’t find his rhythm scored 22 points. T. J. Ford added 21 and Anthony Parker scored 16 points and nine assists.
