Saturday, August 4th, 2007

Alex Rodriguez leaned to his right and watched the ball as it sailed toward the foul pole in left. When it stayed true, he threw up his hands - the long wait for No. 500 was finally over.

Bonds, Glavine, A-Rod chase history today

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Of Barry Bonds, Tom Glavine, Alex Rodriguez, which of them will reach the chase first? Bonds is going for 755 to tie Hank Aaron of the MLB homerun record. A-Rod is chasing 500. And Glavine going for the elite 300 wins.

The most significant of this three will be of Barry Bonds in which for sure ESPN will cover it in all of his at bats. But never forget A-Rod, he is on his face for 800 homeruns. What about the great Tom Glavine? Will they reach it? I believe Bonds will have his 755 today.

Willis denies Bonds of 755

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

The young Dontrelle Willis denied Barry Bonds to tie Hank Aaron at 755 homeruns. Willis was superb in the mound that Bonds went hitless. With the crowd in anticipation of of history, Willis was more that ready. He didn’t want history to be against him. His fastballs were almost unhittable. Let’s wait for another day.

Barry Bonds in the cloud of doubt

Friday, July 13th, 2007

No matter what Barry Bonds will do, either to reach 756 or not, his reputation is tarnished. In my opinion, I may consider him one of the best. He deserves to be given the honor one day as the greatest homerun hitters of all time.

Sammy Sosa Reaches 598th Career Home Run

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Our eyes are intently focusing all on Barry Bonds’ games and anticipating his momentous milestone of breaking the most sacred record in sports history but in doing so we are overlooking the homeruns of Sammy Sosa. The greatness of Sosa was noticed when he was racing Mark Mcgwire in the famous year breaking single season homerun. Two years after that, Sosa had just disappeared in the hearts of baseball lovers.

His declined level of performance and his infamous and embarassing corked bat incident were just few reasons that those memories of his excellence are now forgotten.

Tuesday afternoon, Sosa hit a 3-2 fastball from left hander and two time Cy Young Johan Santana. The ball traveled 414 feet and landed in the right-center field in the bleachers.

Sosa just needs two more homeruns to become the fifth player in the Major League history to reach 600.

Joe Torre’s Job In Jeopardy?

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Joe TorreThe three-game pivotal series of the New York Yankees against the Boston Redsox series will tell us if Joe Torre will be fired or not. Is that fair to say?

The Yankees’s alarm clock is echoing around the sports talk shows today. A rumor that Torre is going to lose his job if his team will not perform well against the Redsox.

With that millions of dollars spent, enough to build four or five new teams in the Majors, the Yankees are expected to win World Series every year. However, destiny was not on their side in the last six years.

Do we have to blame Joe Torre for the inability of the Yanks to match the Redsox? You be the judge.

Monday, May 14th, 2007

barry bonds 756th homerun ballWhether Barry Bonds had juiced himself or not, the $1 million offered by a Dallas auction house for the historic ball is cheap.

“We invite the lucky owner who delivers this historic baseball, as verified by Major League Baseball, to redeem it for a $1 million bounty at a Dallas news conference within 15 days of the record-breaking homer,” Chris Ivy, director of Sports Auctions for Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, said Sunday.

If I am the person who catches that ball, I would sell it for $7 million. With all the words used describing Bonds’ (more…)

The Second Coming of Roger Clemens

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Roger ClemensRoger Clemens is back to the Bronx. A jubilation for the Yankees’ fans as Clemens was introduced Sunday.

In this moment that the Yankees are struggling not in their offense but on their pitching, they have to get Clemens. Their starters are getting injured often that no matter how  great the hitters are, still pitching is necessary.

Roger Clemens, who is arguably considered the best pitcher after WWII with seven Cy Young’s will be (more…)
