The US Open 2007

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

The field of elite professional golfers will start battling up Thursday for this year’s US Open. Will it be Tiger Woods versus the field again?

Woods is the favorite in any tournaments he has joined. His reputation is exceedingly high that you cannot imagine him being beaten come Sunday afternoon. His stature as the greatest golfer alive has made all of us think that it takes a bad day for him to lose and not how great  his opponents are. I mean it’s all in his hands whether he plays well or not.

While Phil Mickelson will be the next player to watch, we understand that any player on the field can float intantly and win. Vijay Singh is one of the notables.

Last year’s winner Geoff Ogilvy is also on the list whose scored 5-over. Many predictions that the winning score will be higher than that because of the terrible course. We may see more bogeys than birdies or double bogeys.

Let’s watch the the 2007 US Open

Wie In Men’s Event Again

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Michele Wie will play in the John Deere Classic for the third straight year. She will again try to make the cut in a men’s event.

I just can’t love Wie for jumping and testing herself in the world of males. She hasn’t proven herself and shown to the golf fans that she can win in the major tournaments in women’s event and she is again listed herself in the John Deere Classic.

As young as she is, thousands admires here because of the talent and charisma she brings but millions are frustrated and angered on her pursuit of a place in men’s golf.

The attention she is getting adequately convinces her to join though she knows she doesn’t have the capability or the talent that the men’s possess.

There’s no way to stop her. Cameras will be glued on her again instead of those deserving male professionals.

Zach Johnson wins Masters, Tiger falls short!

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Zach JohnsonZach Johnson captured the Masters Tournament as he hurdled to the 18th hole with a par having a final score of one over par, three under of the day.

While Tiger Wood’s attempt to birdie the par five 15 hole had failed, Johnson birdied the 16th hole to increase his lead to three.

Zach Johnson stayed composed as Tiger Woods eagled the 13th hole to cutting it to two shots.

Stuart Appleby had a bad day to maintain his lead going to the final round. While Phil Michelson hadn’t eve come near of defending his title.

It was the toughest Major Tournament in years. Final Scores

Tiger is just one stroke behind!

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

I was away for just a moment. I looked at the leaderboard and Stuart Appleby is two over par?

I was really shocked! Thought Apppleby will be on the red score the whole day. At least he should have two strokes lead over Tiger Woods. AP says it,

Stuart Appleby emerged as the leader despite a triple bogey on the 17th hole with a tee shot into the bunker guarding the seventh green, a wedge into a bunker on the hole he was playing and three putts. Compared with other train wrecks, that was tame.

That’s excruciating for Appleby. He was the only player that’s  under par until the 17th hole.

Now the eyes of the Tiger are looking for a green jacket Sunday. He will glimpse at the scoreboard everytime. The uglier the weather, the more advantageous is Tiger Woods.

I’ll wait to see Phil Mickelson giving the green jacket to Tiger Sunday afternoon.

Tiger Woods is still alive

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

It would have been better if Tiger Woods made birdies in the 17th and 18th holes in the windy afternoon in Augusta but he bogeys both holes instead to make him par even in the third round of the Masters.

I thought Tiger would fight the struggles in the field when he was one over par going the the par-5 16th hole. That would be interesting!

Stuart Appleby still unrelented through the 15th hole with one under par, two under of the day. Vijay Singh had a horrible day +5 and Phil Michelson +1 struggled all day long.

Will there be a great comeback from Tiger Woods Sunday? His own history tells us that he only won majors when he is in the last pair. With the weather a great factor and the fast greens, Tiger can rally back but it would take all of him. live scores

Tiger Woods is just four strokes behind the leader Justin Rose.  It seems that Davis Love the III and Vijay Singh are dark horses to win the event. If Tiger is going to step higher Friday, we’ll see him in the final pair Sunday.

Tiger Woods or The Rest of the Field?

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

The Masters, one of four major championships in men’s professional golf and the first to be played each year, start Thursday with Tiger Woods the favorite to win.

Tiger Woods who won three of the last six Masters will again display his poise and creativity against the rest of the field including the defending champion Phil Mickelson.

Almost every given tournament that Tiger participates, most of us always ask the question, “Tiger or the rest of the field”. In Majors, absolutely high percetage will pick Tiger because these are the tournaments that he loves.

I’ll pick Tiger Woods this time against all the players in the field. Though I’ll expect Phil Mickelson and Vijay Sing lurking at his back. Tiger loves The Masters more than any majors. I will be seeing him Sunday wearing the green jacket!
