What do you think of Floyd Landis?

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Cycling fans around the world are still divided if Floyd Landis really cheated or not. Again the credibility of the French lab who conducted the test of his backup urine samples is questionable. We should not forget that the French lab had accused Lance Armstrong right after he retires.

When Floyd Landis was on the podium accepting his yellow jersey and trophy as the 2006 Tour de France winner, I asked myself, “Did he really do it?”. (more…)

I Feel Sad for Mark Prior

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Yes, he will miss the entire 2007 after surgery on his right shoulder.

His spectacular pitches, his charisma, and his poise in the mound in the 2003 season will stay in my heart. He didn’t win the Cy Young that year but he captured many spectators of how you he is and how great he will be in the the future.
Mark Prior
He contributed colorful images for the Chicago Cubs as the Cubs went to the National League Championships. Oh how the baseball fans miss Prior.

I wish he will recover and find his way again as one of the great pitchers in the MLB.

Chicago Zoner  says, And yet another twist in the Mark Prior saga. In spring training he declared himself ready to go and start the year on the big club. Now we have word he is done for the year.

The Curse That Lies Within Tracy MacGrady

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

When I hear the name of Tracy MacGrady in the playoffs, I couldn’t disconnect him as having of a curse! Tracy hasn’t get past the first round.

I remember when he was wearing Orlando Magic’s uniform. They led the serieas against the Pistons, 3-1, he celebrated early with Doc Rivers, the Magic coach of that time now in the Boston Celtics. Ric Carlisle, former coach of Detroit, adjusted their defense by putting Tayshawn Prince on MacGrady. The Orlando Magic collapsed and lose the series.

What about his first playoffs with the Houston Rockets? The Rockets won both games on the road against the Dallas Mavericks. Tracy MacGrady was jubilant and uttered some words of being the series over. The Mavericks came back and defeated the Rockets in game seven. (more…)

Shaq is Crying

Shaquille O'nealDoes Shaq has the right to call out the officials in Saturday’s game?

The fouls were called unfairly for Shaq. Three of them apparently weren’t foul. Those bad calls clearly affected the outcome of the game.

“My intention was to just come out and be myself,” O’Neal said Saturday in the visitors’ locker room. “Until (referee) Eddie Rush derailed me. I’m just very, very frustrated with the inconsistency of what’s going on. Very, very, very frustrated. (more…)

Follow-up tests on backup urine samples by Tour de France champion Floyd Landis found traces of synthetic testosterone, the French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported Monday. The tests on seven “B” samples clearly showed traces of the banned substance, the paper said on its Web site. Landis had insisted the follow-up tests weren’t necessary because the primary “A” samples tested negative for banned substances during the Tour.(AP)

NBA Playoffs
NBA Playoffs? The games are all exciting and of course the competitiveness is at the full gear. After the 16 teams have played, I noticed some of the unexpected and surprising occurrences.

1. Warriors defeat the Mavericks. Stunning! The three games that the Warriors won against the Mavericks in the regular season were not a fluke. They were for real. Don Nelson has an answer to his former team.
2. Denver upsets San Antonio. I’d written before about the Nuggets of winning games to be the sixth seed and would have to play the Spurs. Denver showed the poise with their two superstars Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson. The Nuggets are not afraid of the Spurs.
3. New Jersey beats Toronto. Vince Carter was the marked man but Richard Jefferson was the man. With Jason Kidd assisting and rebounding more than scoring, the Raptors are in trouble.
4. Raptors fans wearing shirts with the same color as the Nets? (more…)

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

Vince Carter was once beloved and admired but returning back to play against the Toronto Raptors with boos in his ears struggled in the game yet he wasn’t the the only man to defend.

Cleveland in the NBA finals?

Friday, April 20th, 2007

Lebron JamesWhen the Chicago Bulls suffered a defeat in the hands of the New Jersey Nets, the Cleveland Cavaliers felt a sigh of relief for obtaining a ticket for the easier way to the Finals.

Yes, the Cavaliers bracket is more winnable than that of the Bulls. Cleveland will have to face the injured laden Washington Wizards in the first round and most importantly, they  avoided the possibility of meeting the Pistons in the second round.

With Lebron James maturing and elevating his game, the Cavaliers this time have a greater chances of winning. Also, James’ supporting casts are jelling well enough (more…)
